What is Postdoc Fitness Hour?
Postdoc Fitness Hour is a full body workout that incorporates weight training, cardio, and core training in a circuit style format. Various equipment will be used throughout the program such as TRX, bands, medicine balls, small weights, and much more! But there will also be workouts that will use minimal equipment as well. No two workouts will be the same, which helps keep things fresh and exciting.
Who teaches the classes?
Classes are taught by Coach Kevin Robinson. He is a full time faculty in the Physical Education & Mind Body Health Department as well, as a personal trainer for the past 21 years. He attended Michigan State University for undergrad and Virginia Commonwealth University for graduate school.
Where is it held?
Most workouts will be held on the USC track or at the Lyon Center. You’ll receive notifications about specific locations after signing up. All postdocs must be enrolled in PDF999 for access to the Lyon Center. Emails will be sent out the morning of the workouts to give the location and what the focal point of the workout will be. Zoom is also available if you’re not at University Park Campus.
How do postdocs at the Health Sciences Campus (HSC) or other satellite campuses join?
You have a few options available to you. You can join by zoom and follow the workout from wherever is convenient for you or you can commute to UPC one or both days, or do a mix! USC has a free intercampus shuttle service. While you’re here, Doheny Memorial Library or Leavey Library both offer a quiet space to work.
This program is open to all postdoctoral scholars. Please email postdocs@usc.edu to get started. The program runs year round, all semesters (including summer). Join anytime.
